World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is an American entertainment company who specialise in professional wrestling, they also have put their hand to film, music, product licensing and direct product sales.

It was founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1952 under the original name of Capitol Wrestling Corporation. McMahon's son, Vincent James McMahon Sr. would take over the company, renaming it the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) and World Wrestling Federation (WWF) (1954-82), that is when his son, Vincent Kennedy McMahon Jr. took over during the 1980s and would later rename the company to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Its headquarters is based in Stamford, Connecticut, USA and they are the largest wrestling promotion to date, holding three successful shows in Raw, SmackDown and NXT, plus their monthly pay-per-views, including Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and their biggest yearly event, WrestleMania.
