Usher is an American singer, songwriter and dancer. He was born on 14th October 1978 in Dallas, Texas, USA.

He started his career at the age of 10, joining up with a local R&B quintet, NuBeginnings. He was then spotted at the age of 13 by LaFace Records on an American talent show, Star Search. He burst on to the UK scene with his single "You Make Me Wanna..." which reached number one in the charts and gave Usher his first Grammy Award nomination, kicking off a very successful career in the late 90s and 2000s.

His other most successful hits include; U Remind Me, U Got It Bad, U Don't Have to Call, Yeah!, Burn, Confessions Part II, My Boo, Love in This Club, OMG and DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love to name a few.

Of his awards and achievements, he has been named one of the best-selling artists in American music history, sold over 23.8 million albums and 38.2 million digital songs in the US alone, 40 million album sales worldwide, eight Grammy awards, number one in the HOT 100 artist of the 2000s, his 2004 album Confessions was named top solo album of the 2000s, number six on the Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years and he was inducted into the 29th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
