Steve McQueen was an American actor. He was born on 24 March 1930 in Beech Grove, Indiana, USA and passed away on 7 November 1980 in Chihuahua, Mexico, aged 50.
He made his television debut as Freddie in Family Affair (1952) and went on to appear and star in many television and film projects throughout his career. He was best known for his roles as Josh Randall in Wanted: Dead or Alive (1958-61), Vin Tanner in The Magnificent Seven (1960), Virgil Hilts 'The Cooler King' in The Great Escape (1963), Frank Bullitt in Bullitt (1968) and Henri 'Papillon' Charriere in Papillon (1973). He was very passionate about motorcycles and cars, and in many of the films he starred in, he would perform his own stunts. Some of his other acting work includes:-
