Star Wars is an American sci-fi, fantasy film series, which focuses on the Skywalker family over three separate trilogies. The series was created by George Lucas and is the second highest-grossing film series in history, at over $9 billion. It also holds the Guiness World Record of 'Most Successful Film Merchandising Franchise'. It is a worldwide phenomenon, with countless people attending events in Star Wars cosplay, toys, video games and collectible memorabilia available for the diehard fans.

The film series is in three separate trilogies and are as follows; Original Trilogy, Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). Prequel Trilogy, Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005). Sequel Trilogy, Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) and Episode IX (2019). It has seen an immense variety of stellar actors and actresses appear throughout the series, alongside the central characters of each trilogy as follows; Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Natalie Portman (Padmé Amidala), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron).
