Star Trek is a sci-fi television series created by Gene Roddenberry and first aired in the USA on 8 September 1966 and has seen many different media forms over the years, such as animations, comics, films and games.

The original series saw the adventures aboard the USS Enterprise which starred the likes of William Shatner (James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Spock) and DeForest Kelley (Leonard McCoy). As the series carried on, there was more additional members to the cast, the most prominent being; Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard), George Takei (Hikaru Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (Nyota Uhura), LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge), Brent Spiner (Data), Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher), Nana Visitor (Kira Nerys) and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine). The television series has seen 6 follow-up series and has hit the big screen with the original cast and also a re-vamped version, starring the likes of; John Cho (Hikaru Sulu), Benedict Cumberbatch (Khan), Simon Pegg (Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott), Chris Pine (James T. Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldana (Nyota Uhura), Anton Yelchin (Pavel Chekov) and Idris Elba (Krall/Balthazar Edison). The television series as a collective have won 68 awards and received 224 nominations.
