Robert Plant is a British musician, singer and songwriter. He was born on 20 August 1948 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England.

In the late 60s, Jimmy Page was searching for a vocalist for his band (then called The Yardbirds) and after being turned down by a potential candidate, was directed towards Plant. After re-evaluating the group and bringing on board new members, they eventually renamed the group Led Zeppelin and are now considered one of the most successful and influential rock groups in the world, with Stairway to Heaven being the most popular track to both their fans and future rock stars. In 1980, John Bonham (the drummer for the group) passed away and the remaining members decided to call it a day. Plant would eventually embark on a solo career, releasing his debut album, Pictures at Eleven in 1982 and enjoyed a successful run, with hits like Big Log, Other Arms, Little by Little and Hurting Kind (I've Got My Eyes on You). He is known for his powerful vocals and has been voted The Greatest Metal Vocalist of All Time.
