Riyad Mahrez is a professional footballer, curently playing for Leicester City and the Algerian national team. He was born on 21st February 1991 in Sarcelles, France.

He spent the first five years of his career playing for AAS Sarcelles in his youth, before turning professional in 2009 when he joined Quimper, a French football team in the fourth division. He then joined Le Havre II (a reserve team for Le Havre) in 2010 for three years, playing alongside the main team before officially joining them near the end of his stay at the club. He score 30 goals (24 for the reserve, 6 for the main team) during his time there. In 2014 he joined with Leicester City where he helped them to win the Football League Championship and get promoted to the Premier League. He also made his debut for the Algeria national team that year, representing them in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He won the Algerian Footballer of the Year honour in 2015.
