  • Ray Clemence autograph (Liverpool)

Ray Clemence is a British retired professional goalkeeper in football. He was born on 5 August 1948 in Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.

He spent the majority of his career at Liverpool (1967-81), making 470 appearances and helping the club to earn the FA Cup (1973-74), League Cup (1980-81), FA Charity Shield (5x) and UEFA Cup (1972-73 / 1975-76). He also played for Tottenham Hotspur (1981-88), making 240 appearances and earning the FA Cup (1981-82), FA Charity Shield (1981) and UEFA Cup (1983-84). He is regarded by supporters of both teams as one of the greatest goalkeepers in history. He played for the England national team (1972-83), making 61 appearances during his time there.
