Pep Guardiola is a Spanish football manager and former active player. He was born on 18 January 1971 in Santpedor, Spain.

He began his career in football playing for the Barcelona youth team (1984-90) and continued to play for them throughout the majority of his career (various stages between 1988-2001). He also played for the Spain national team (1992-2001) making 47 appearances and scored 5 goals. After retiring from active play in 2006, he used his skills to coach reserve team, Barcelona B (2007-08) and subsequently became manager of the main squad of FC Barcelona (2008-12). He was also manager of Bayern Munich (2013-16) and is now in charge at Manchester City (2016-).
