Pat Rice is an Irish retired professional football player and coach. He was born on 17 March 1949 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
He spent the majority of his career with Arsenal (1967-80), making 397 appearances, scoring 12 goals and helped the team to earn the FA Cup in 1971 and 1979. He played for the Northern Ireland national team (1968-79), making 49 appearances during his time there. After he retired from his active career in 1984 he became a coach for the Arsenal youth team for 12 years before ending up as Assistant manager to Arsenal until 2012, when he officially retired.
