Nicky Byrne is an Irish singer, songwriter, radio and television presenter. He was born on 9 October 1978 in Dublin, Ireland.

He initially took up football in his early years, and even played professionally as a goalkeeper for Leeds United (1995) for two years before getting into the music industry. In 1998 he would join the Irish boyband, Westlife, along with fellow members, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Brian McFadden, where he saw much success with 7 number one albums, 14 number one hits in the UK and selling over 45 million records across the globe. He has also released a single, Sunlight, which he entered the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with, done multiple radio and television presenting work and in 2012 he competed in the annual dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing and made it to Week 10 in the show.
