Michael Corbett Shannon (born august 7, 1974)[1][2] is an american stage, film, and television actor. He was nominated for an academy award for best supporting actor for his performance in revolutionary road. As of 2010, he is a regular on the critically acclaimed hbo series boardwalk empire, portraying agent nelson van alden. His performance was also critically acclaimed in 2011 film take shelter, for which he won the saturn award for best actor.
