Michael Gambon is an Irish-born British actor. He was born on 19 October 1940 in Cabra, Dublin, Ireland.

He started off his career on the stage, working with the Gate Theatre Dublin on their production of Othello. He worked in theatre, film and television over his rising career and became another huge star to join the Harry Potter series of films as Professor Albus Dumbledore. His other acting work includes:-

• Doctor Who (2010)
