Michael Emerson is an American actor. He was born on 7 September 1954 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA.

He made his television debut, in a minor role, on the film Orpheus Descending (1990) and has appeared and starred in many film and television projects throughout his career. He is best known for his roles as William Hinks in The Practice (2000-01), Zep Hindle in Saw (2004), Benjamin Linus in Lost (2006-10) and Harold Finch in Person of Interest (2011-16). He has also worked in theatre, including plays such as, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, Le Misanthrope and The Iceman Cometh. Some of his other acting work includes:-
