Mark van Bommel is a Dutch former professional football player. He was born on 22 April 1977 in Limburg, Netherlands.

He began his career in football at RKVV Maasbracht youth club (1985-92) and went on to have successful runs in Fortuna Sittard (1992-99) making 153 and scored 13 goals, PSV Eindhoven (1999-2005) making 169 appearances and scored 46 goals and Bayern Munich (2006-11), making 123 appearances and scored 11 goals. He has also played for the Netherlands national team (2000-12).
