Mark Gatiss is a British actor, comedian, screenwriter and novelist. He was born on 17 October 1966 in Sedgefield, County Durham, England.

His first major break was with the television sketch show The League of Gentlemen (1999-2002), which he co-created with Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton and Jeremy Dyson. He has written and appeared in many television shows including the revival of Randall & Hopkirk (2000), Little Britain (2003), Doctor Who (2005-15) and Sherlock (2010-16). He also co-created the crime drama series, Sherlock and played the role of Mycroft Holmes. Some of his other acting work includes:-
