Lena Zavaroni was a Scottish singer and television presenter, of Italian descent. She was born on 4 November 1963 in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland and passed away on 1 October 1999 in Cardiff, Wales, England, aged 35.

She began her career path in music at a very early age, as her parents were also into music themselves, and she was later discovered by a record producer in 1973. She made herself publicly known when she appeared on the talent show, Opportunity Knocks and came out with her own album, Ma! (He’s Making Eyes At Me), which hit the UK Charts at number eight and puts her in the history books as the youngest to ever have an album reach the top 10. She has performed on various programs including; The Morecambe and Wise Show and Royal Variety Show (1976), and even performed for the US President Gerald Ford at the White House! She also hosted television programs, including; Lena and Bonnie, Lena Zavaroni on Broadway (1978), Lena Zavaroni and Music (1979) and Lena (1980-82).
