Julian Fellowes is a British actor, film director, screenwriter and novelist. He was born on 17 August 1949 in Cairo, Egypt.

He is best known for being the man who created, wrote and produced the multiple award winning and popular British television series Downton Abbey (2010-15), being the author of many Sunday Times best-seller novels and the screenplay for the Academy Award winning film, Gosford Park (2001).
