Joao Moutinho is a Portuguese professional football player. He was born on 8 September 1986 in Portimao, Algarve, Portugal.

He began his professional career at Portuguese football club, Sporting CP B (2003-04), making 30 appearances and scoring 1 goal. He has spent the majority of his career with Sporting CP (2005-10), making 163 appearances and scoring 21 goals and Monaco (2013-18), making 158 appearances and scoring 9 goals. He currently plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers (2018-) and the Portugal national team (2005-).
