Jesse L. Martin is an American actor and singer. He was born on 18 January 1969 in Rocky Mount, Virginia, USA.

He became widely known with the role of Dr. Greg Butters in the television series, Ally McBeal (1998-99) and is best known for his role as Ed Green in Law & Order (1999-2008) and as Detective Joe West in the DC inspired television series, The Flash (2014-). Some of his other acting work includes:-
