James McAvoy is a Scottish actor. He was born on 21 April 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland. His most notable work is playing the young Charles Xavier in the X-Men films.

Since his acting debut in 1995 with The Near Room, McAvoy has had success in many television roles and then from the early 2000s became prominent in film, having success in both areas. His notable film and television work include:-
