Heath Ledger was an Australian actor. He was born on 4 April 1979 in Perth, Australia and passed away on 22 January 2008 in New York City, USA, aged 28.

He made his film debut, in a minor role, on Clowning Around (1992) and went on to appear and star in television and film projects throughout his career. He was best known for his roles as Patrick Verona in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), Gabriel Martin in The Patriot (2000), Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain (2005) and as Joker in The Dark Knight (2008). He also appeared in Australian soap opera, Home and Away, as Scott Irwin (1997) and had made strides to become a film director, forming his own company called The Masses, and got to direct a few music videos.
