Gary Barlow is a British singer, songwriter and record producer. He was born on 20 January 1971 in Frodsham, Cheshire, England.
He made his official start in the music industry with the popular boy band, Take That. He was not only the lead singer of the group, but he also wrote the majority of the songs and played the piano. After many years of success with the group, it ultimately disbanded for the first time in 1996, after which he pursued a solo career, releasing his debut single, Forever Love (1996) which topped the UK charts at number one. This was followed up a year later with another number one hit, Love Won't Wait (1997), which was accompanied by his debut album, Open Road (1997), again hitting the number one spot in the UK. After some major hiccups in his solo career, in 2005 there would be renewed interest in Take That once more and he returned, initially as a four-piece (without Robbie Williams) and would resume their earlier successes. In 2010, he would return to solo work, and released the single, Shame (w/ Robbie Williams), which entered at number two in the UK charts. His love of music has expanded his repertoire, by writing and producing songs for other artists and also becoming a judge on the UK talent show, The X Factor in 2011 for three series. In 2016, he has come up with his own talent show looking for male stars to get a chance to star in a musical surrounding Take That. Some of his other big hits in the UK include:-
