Garbine Muguruza is a Spanish-Venezuelan professional tennis player. She was born on 8 October 1993 in Caracas, Venezuela.

She had a successful start to her career, making her first appearance in the 2012 Miami Open, where she bested two former Top 10 players, but did not win the tournament. Her greatest achievement so far has been her first Grand Slam title, during the 2016 French Open, when she bested Serena Williams for the win, which also made her the first female Spanish player to capture the title since 1998. She has made it into the World rankings at number 3.

Carla Suárez Navarro is a Spanish tennis player. She was born on 3 September 1988 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

Her career started in the year 2008, when she competed for the Fed Cup, then became more notable during the French Open, in the same year, where she reached the quarter-finals. During the 2009 Australian Open, she got an upset victory over the successful and widely-known American player, Venus Williams. She has competed in many tournaments, including Wimbledon 2012 and the London 2012 Olympics, and has been very close to a huge win. In 2016 she had the first major win of her career when she competed in the Qatar Open, making it to the finals against a previous opponent, Jelena Ostapenko, whom she bested and received her first Premier title and also securing her as World number 6 in the ranks.
