David Puttnam is a British film producer, educator and has a seat on the Labour bench in the House of Lords, but he is not a politician. He was born on 25 February 1941 in Southgate, London, England.
He began his career in the late 60s, when he worked for Goodtimes Enterprises, producing both musicals and film. He began his own production company in 1976 called Enigma Productions. He retired from his career in producing in 1998, becoming more involved in education and the environment. The films that he worked on over his career, include:
