Daley Thompson is a British retired decathlete. He was born on 30 July 1958 in Notting Hill, London, England.
He is regarded as one of the greatest all-round athletes, in the UK, in history, with multiple records and medals won in many events, including two gold medals in the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games, a gold in the 1983 World Championships, two gold in the 1982 and 1986 European Championships and three gold in the 1978, 1982 and 1986 Commonwealth Games. Once he retired in 1992 after a hamstring injury, he did many different things including playing football, being a fitness coach and even motorsport where he entered the Ford Credit Fiesta Challenge Championship (1994). He also appeared in television advertisements for Lucozade and had three official computer games made using his name back in the eighties.
