Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese professional football player. He was born on 5 February 1985 in Madeira, Portugal.

He started playing at the age of 7 for the Portuguese youth club, Andorinha (1992-95) and he made his professional debut with Portuguese club, Sporting CP B (2002-03), making 2 appearances with the team. He would eventually move on to play for the British football club, Manchester United (2003-09), making 196 appearances with the team, scoring 84 goals and taking part in various victories for the club, including the FA Cup (2003-04), UEFA Champions League (2007-08) and FIFA World Cup (2008). After making a huge name for himself, he later joined the Spanish club, Real Madrid (2009-), making 265 appearances, scoring 285 goals so far, and taking part in various victories for the team, including La Liga (2011-12 / 2016-17), UEFA Champions League (2013-14 / 2015-16 / 2016-17) and FIFA World Cup (2014 / 2016). He is regarded as the best player in the world, and has earned many trophies and achievements over his active career; the first player in history to win four European Golden Shoes, holds the record for most goals scored in the European Leagues (372), UEFA Champions Leagues (107), UEFA European Championship (29) and UEFA Champions League season (17). He also plays for the Portugal national team (2003-) making 145 appearances and scoring 78 goals throughout his time there.
