Colin Firth is an actor, currently working in the movie industry. He was born on 10th September 1960 in Grayshott, Hampshire, England.

Part of the 'Brit Pack' of the 1980s, a bunch of young actors whom were thought to be destined for big things, Firth started to make his way there thanks to the 1995 BBC television adaptation of Jane Austen's book, Pride and Prejudice, where he played the role of Mr. Darcy. It led him to similar roles on the big screen and with his reputation growing, his career soon took off with Bridget Jones's Diary and Love Actually, both star studded films.

His most notable roles in television and film include: Pride and Prejudice (1995); The English Patient (1996); Shakespeare in Love (1998); Bridget Jones's Diary (2001); Love Actually (2003); Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004); Nanny McPhee (2005); St. Trinian's (2007); Mamma Mia! (2008); A Single Man (2009); The King's Speech (2010); Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014).

Of his achievements, his most notable include: BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Volpi Cup for Best Actor (A Single Man, 2009); Academy Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role (The King's Speech, 2010).
