Cillian Murphy is an Irish actor. He was born on 25 May 1976 in Blackrock, County Cork, Ireland.

He made his film debut as Pat the Barman in Sweety Barrett (1998) and has gone on to appear and star in many television and film projects throughout his career. He is best known for his roles as Jim in 28 Days Later... (2002), Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Robert Fischer in Inception (2010) and Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders (2013-17).
