Bruce Lee was a Chinese/American actor and martial arts instructor. He was born, Lee Jun-fan, on 27 November 1940 in Chinatown, San Francisco, USA and passed away on 20 July 1973 in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, aged 32.
He began his career in acting as a child star, and initially appeared on-screen in Golden Gate Girl (1941) and went on to appear and star in many film and television projects, mainly Chinese films until the late 60s to early 70s. He became an iconic figure across the globe, recognised for his martial arts style and strong work ethic. He was best known, in Western culture, for his roles as Cheng Chao-an in The Big Boss (1971), Chen Zhen in The Chinese Connection (1972), Tang Lung/Dragon in The Way of the Dragon (1972) and Lee in Enter the Dragon (1973). He was truly a great influence on many international actors who crossed over to Western culture, and like him, made it big despite the initial language barrier.
