Joanna Lumley is a British actress, former model, author and activist. She was born on 1 May 1946 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, British India.
She initially began her career as a model and made her film debut, in a minor role, on Some Girls Do (1969) and even played as a Bond Girl in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). Her most memorable roles have been as Elaine Perkins in Coronation Street (1973), as Purdey in The New Avengers (1976-77), but her best and most iconic role was as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous (1992-2012) and followed that up later in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016). She is also a human rights activist and has done a lot of charity work for groups like the Gurkha Justice Campaign and Compassion in World Farming. Some of her other acting work includes:-
