Bear Grylls is a British adventurer and television presenter. He was born, Edward Michael Grylls, on 7 June 1974 in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland.

He is best known for presenting Man vs. Wild (2006-11), a survival documentary that showcased Bear's skills in the wild and how he reacted to situations around him. He has made many accomplishments over the years including; climbing Mount Everest (1998), set the Guiness world record for the longest indoor freefall (2008) and led a team across the Northwest Passage (2010). He has been the host of many survival television programmes, including; Bear's Wild Weekend (2011 / 2014) and Bear's Mission (2018).
