An Idiot Abroad is a British travel documentary/comedy, created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and aired from 23 September 2010 - 14 December 2012.

The concept for the series focused on Karl Pilkington as he travelled to various countries to experience the cultures and some of the main attractions. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant were on-hand to set Karl various tasks and the comedy was in Karl's reactions to these situations he was placed in.
