Alexander Siddig is a British/Sudanese actor. He was born on 21 November 1965 in Wad Madani, Gezira, Sudan.

He made his film debut as an extra in the film, Sammy and Rosie Get Laid (1987) and has gone on to appear and star in many television and film projects throughout his career. He is best known for his roles as Doctor Julian Bashir in the following Star Trek incarnations; The Next Generation (1993) and Deep Space Nine (1993-99), Imad in Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Philip Burton in Primeval (2011) and Ra's al Ghul in Gotham (2017-18).
