William Hartnell was a British actor. He was born on 8 January 1908 in St Pancras, London, England and passed away on 23 April 1975 in Marden, Kent, England, aged 67.
He was best known for being the first actor to play the role of the Doctor in Doctor Who (1963-66), but he was also prominent in Carry On Sergeant (1958) as Sergeant Grimshaw and in the television sitcom The Army Game (1957-60) as Company Sergeant Major Percy Bullimore.
