Tom Cavanagh is a Canadian actor. He was born on 26 October 1963 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
He started his career in the late 80s, mainly through theatre productions, including the Broadway adaptation of Shenandoah. In the early 90s, he started taking up television advertisements and minor roles in Canada, before making a name for himself in America, with his role as Doug Boyce in the television series, Providence (1999-2000). He then got his first starring role in the comedy/drama series, Ed (2000-04) as the title character, Ed Stevens, and was also best known for roles as Dan Dorian in the medical spoof series, Scrubs (2002-09) and more recently, as Dr. Harrison Wells/Reverse-Flash in the DC inspired series, The Flash (2014-).
