Terry Griffiths is a retired Welsh professional snooker player. He was born on 16 October 1947 in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
He started his professional snooker career in 1978 and experienced his first major win after beating Dennis Taylor for the World Championship in 1979. He is one of ten players to have achieved snooker’s triple crown, winning the World Championship, The Masters (1980) and the UK Championship (1982). He also took part on an episode of the popular snooker game show, Big Break (1993). After retiring from active competition, he has past on his knowledge to various other players through coaching the likes of, Mark Williams, Marco Fu and Ali Carter to name a few, and has done commentary for the sport on the BBC.
