Sebastian Coe is a British politician and retired track and field athlete. He was born on 29 September 1956 in London, England.
He was a very prominent athlete during the 1980s, and has set many world records, including setting three world records in 41 days and 1:41.73 in the 800m in Italy (1981). He has won Gold medals in the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games (both 1500m) and also in the 1986 European Athletics Championships (800m). After retiring from competitive action, he turned to politics, acting as member of parliament for the Conservative Party and in 2015 he was made President of the International Association of Athletics Federations.
