Sean Bean is a British actor. He was born on 17 April 1959 in Handsworth, Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England.
He made his television debut as Horace Clark in The Bill (1984) and went on to appear and star in many television and film projects throughout his career. He is best known for his roles as Richard Sharpe in a series of television films (1993-97 / 2006 / 2008), Boromir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-03), Eddard 'Ned' Stark in Game of Thrones (2011) and Martin Odum in Legends (2014-15). He has also provided his voice in video games, including The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006), Lego: The Lord of the Rings (2012) and Sid Meier's Civilization VI (2016).
