‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper was a Canadian professional wrestler and actor. He was born on 17 April 1954 in Saskatchewan, Canada and passed away on 31 July 2015 in Los Angeles, California, USA, aged 61.

After a stint of amateur wrestling in his early days, he would make his breakthrough in the NWA (1975-83) becoming their top villains in the mid to late 70s. He is best known for his time at the WWF/WWE (1984-96 / 2003 / 2005-15) and had memorable rivalries with the likes of Jimmy Snuka, Hulk Hogan, ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Goldust and Chris Jericho. He would later have short runs with WCW (1996-2002) and TNA (2003-05). He will always be remembered as a legend in the business, a top heel and charismatic showman, and has achieved a number of accomplishments and titles within the sport. He also tried his hand at acting, including as Nada in They Live (1988) and Sam Hell in Hell Comes to Frogtown (1988).
