Ron Moody (born Ronald Moodnick; 8 January 1924 – 11 June 2015) was a British actor, best known for his Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated performance as Fagin in Oliver! He holds the distinction of having portrayed Merlin the wizard in two Disney films, Unidentified Flying Oddball and A Kid in King Arthur's Court. He played Ponsonby-Hopkirk in an episode of the '60s spy television series The Avengers.
