Robert Englund is an American actor, singer and director. He was born on 6 June 1947 in Glendale, California, USA.

He became generally known during his time on the television series, V (1983) playing the role of Willie, which he reprised between 1984-85. It was during that time, that he would take on a role that went against typecast for him, playing the infamous child serial killer, Freddy Krueger in the first film of a series, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). He would go on to play this role for many years to come including a tie in with another synonymous serial killer character, Jason from the Friday the 13th films, in Freddy vs. Jason (2003).
