Pelé is a retired Brazilian professional footballer. He was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento on 23 October 1940 in Tres Coracoes, Brazil.
He is regarded as the greatest football player of all time and came up with the phrase “the beautiful game”. He has had an impressive career overall, scoring 1281 goals in 1363 games, placing him in the Guinness World Records for the most career goals scored in football. At age 15, he started playing for the Brazilian professional football club, Santos and at 16 joined the Brazil national team. He is the only player to ever be a part of three FIFA World Cup wins, (1958 / 1962 / 1970).
Gordon Banks was a British professional football player. He was born on 30 December 1937 in Sheffield, England, and passed away on 12 February 2019 in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
He played as a goalkeeper throughout his career, and was known for his time with Leicester City (1959-67), Stoke City (1967-73) and the England national team (1979-80). He was highly regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
