Paul Weller is a British singer, songwriter and musician. He was born on 25 May 1958 in Woking, Surrey, England.
He began his successful music career in 1972 with the punk rock/new wave band, The Jam, throwing out hits like, In The City (1977), The Eton Rifles (1979) and Going Underground (1980) and in 1982, Weller would feel that a change was needed and they would later disband. In 1983, he would form a new group called The Style Council, and would explore different musical styles such as, pop, jazz, soul, house and folk ballads. They had hits including, Speak Like a Child (1983), My Ever Changing Moods and You're the Best Thing (1984), until the late 80s when their popularity declined and they would split in 1989. Weller would then begin his solo career in 1990, and after a slow start, his first self-titled album, released in 1992, gained a good following which would then lead to great success as a solo artist.
