Neville Southall is a former Welsh football player. He was born on 16 September 1958 in Llandudno, Wales.

Known as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, Southall spent the majority of his career with Everton (1981-98) where he made 578 appearances on the field. During his time there, his accomplishments with the club included a European Cup Winners' Cup (1985), FA Cup (1984/1995), multiple FA Charity Shield medals and two First Division championship medals. Other teams he played for include, Bury, Torquay United and the Wales national team.

Achievements:

• Player of the Year – Winsford United F.C. (1979-80)

• Player of the Year – Bury F.C. (1980-81)

• FWA Footballer of the Year (1985)

• BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year (1995)

• Player of the Year – Torquay United F.C. (1998-99)
