Leslie Crowther was a British comedian, television presenter and actor. He was born on 6 February 1933 in Nottinghamshire, England and passed away on 29 September 1996 in Bath, Somerset, England, aged 63.
He was a popular entertainer during the 1950s and onwards, performing on variety shows, children’s programs and on radio. He joined the BBC to host Crackerjack (1960-68) and would join ITV in 1969, where he would have his own program, The Leslie Crowther Show (1971). He is also well known for hosting several game shows, including; The Price is Right (1984-88) and Stars in Their Eyes (1990-92). He also did a little acting work, including; as Thomas Jones in The Reluctant Romeo (1967), Clive Gibbons in My Good Woman (1972) and Tony Marchant in Big Boy Now! (1976-77). He was honoured in the British biographical program, This Is Your Life, twice (1973 / 1994).
