Leo Sayer is a British singer and songwriter. He was born on 21 May 1948 in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, England.
His music has been a mainstay for four decades and since his start in the early 70s, Sayer has become a huge household name, racking up seven consecutive Top 10 hit singles. He initially begun his music career as a co-writer, but was soon signed up to make his own songs. His debut was Why Is Everybody Going Home (1973), which unfortunately failed to hit the charts, but his second single, The Show Must Go On (1973), topped the UK charts at number two, and subsequently, his debut album, Silverbird (1974), would also hit number two in the UK, kicking off what would be a long and successful career.
