Kenny Baker was a British actor. He was born on 24 August 1934 in Birmingham, England and passed away on 13 August 2016 in Lancashire, England, aged 81.

He made his television debut as The Croat in an episode of Man of the World (1962) and has made many appearances in both television and film over his career. He was best known for his role as R2-D2 in the following Star Wars films; A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). Some of his other acting work includes:-

• The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1982)

• Willow (1988)

• Casualty (1992 / 2007)
