John Greig is a Scottish retired football player and manager. He was born on 11 September 1942 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He has spent his entire professional playing career with the Rangers football team (1961-78), making 498 appearances, scoring 87 goals and is considered by fans as The Greatest Ever Ranger and is a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame. He has also played for the Scotland national team (1964-75), making 44 appearances, scoring 3 goals and acted as captain for 15 games. When he ended his active career in 1978, he became Rangers manager (1978-83) and saw some mild success before resigning in October 1983.
