Joe Royle is a British former professional football player and football manager. He was born on 8 April 1949 in Norris Green, Liverpool, England.

He began his professional career at Everton (1966-74), making 232 appearances and scoring 102 goals. He has also played for Manchester City (1974-77), Bristol City (1977-80) and the England national team (1971-77). Once he quit playing on the field, he took a managerial role at various clubs, including; Oldham Athletic (1982-94 / 2009), Everton (1994-97), Manchester City (1998-2001) and Ipswich Town (2002-06).

• Premier League Manager of the Month (Feb 1994)
• Football League Championship Manager of the Month (Nov 2004)
